Program operation is contracted with Help A Child, Inc. and the program is administered at
their facility. SAVE provides forensic exams to victims/survivors of sexual assault age 14+ in
Pinellas County. Victims/survivors are brought to a PinCHD location and an Advanced
Registered Nurse Practitioner, utilizing protocols developed by the PinCHD and approved for
all sexual assault examination in the state, conducts the exam. Examiners provide expert
witness testimony when cases go to trial. The program works closely with the law
enforcement victim/survivor advocates and Family Service Centers Rape Services Programs
to insure holistic coordination of services to victims/survivors. Also works to insure that
victims/survivors are informed of and use the Crimes Compensations options.
