For Child Care Providers

  • Ellison Machine

    The Ellison machine uses dies to make cutouts for bulletin boards, children's activities, craft projects, etc. Providers/staff need only bring a supply of paper, felt, etc.

    This "cookie-cutter" machine is available at the following locations:

      • Pinellas County Health Department
        Center Bay Offices
        4175 East Bay Drive, Suite 300
        Clearwater, FL 33764
        Monday - Friday - 8 am - 5 pm

      • The Main Clearwater Library
        100 N. Osceola Av.
        Clearwater
        Monday - Thursday 9 am - 9 pm
        Friday - Saturday 9 am - 5 pm

        (Please call ahead to ensure it is available.)
  • Fingerprinting

    Background screening is required for all child care providers. Trained License Board staff will fingerprint family child care providers and their household members and children's center staff free of charge. Fingerprinting is available Thursdays from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.


    PLEASE NOTE:

    Effective September 1, 2007, the PCLB will no longer provide fingerprinting or notarization services. For your convenience see the fingerprinting services offered throughout the county.

  • Notarization

    Some of the documents necessary for licensing require notarization. Notary service is free.

  • Training Available for Early Childhood Professionals

    The Training Times for Children’s Centers and Family Child Care Homes Current Issue (Jul-Sep 2007) is a quarterly publication that contains listings of training for early childhood professionals. Training sessions meet the training requirements for children’s center personnel and child care providers.

  • File Reviews - Compliance History for Centers or Homes
    PCLB works in collaboration with Child Care Resource and Referral of Pinellas, the agency that can help parents & guardians locate child care. The public can review a children's center or family child care home licensing history (file review) by appointment at the PCLB office. Inspection reports can be accessed through our Quick Links or Inspection Reports for Centers and Homes.

  • Reporting Complaints
    License Board staff take child care complaints and investigate allegations of licensing violations.
