2-1-1
(Pinellas Helpline)
2-1-1 is Pinellas County's only 24-hour program that provides information and referrals on local health/human services, volunteer opportunities, donation referrals, and crisis intervention/problem-solving counseling for individuals. (Cell Phone users must dial 727-210-4211). 2-1-1 is now accessible to all-languages and TDD/TTY machines for the hearing impaired.

Child Care Standards and Improvements Work Group

Department of Children and Families (DCF) Secretary George H. Sheldon established a work group to ensure that Florida has the highest quality child care for our children. The work group will assess and make recommendations for legislative, administrative rule, process, or procedural enhancements to Florida’s standards relating to:
Licensure requirements
Health and safety regulations

Quality of care to promote child readiness and well-being
Higher quality standards and quality improvement efforts
Efficiencies of services between governmental agencies
Adult-to-child ratios
Staff training requirements
Parental communication

Coordinated Child Care of Pinellas, Inc.

Services Provided by CCC:

  • Out of School Time: Serves children 9-14 years by providing quality educational and personal enrichment activities that promote school success
  • 21 Century Community Learning Centers: Provides academic and personal enrichment activities to academically/behaviorally challenged middle school students.
  • Community Compact: Provides additional support services to students and their families attending Boca Ciega and Gibbs High Schools.
  • Special Services: Developmental screening/assessments, intervention, provider training, and case management.
  • Food & Nutrition Services: Sponsor for USDA Child Care Nutrition Program
  • Live Scan Fingerprinting Management System: Provides electronic live scan fingerprinting/level II background screening for early childhood and school-age programs.
  • Administers child care scholarships services (eligibility & provider reimbursement) for the Juvenile Welfare Board-Entitled program, Pinellas County School Board - Teen Parent Program and the Department of Children & Families Refugee Program.

The Department of Children and Families, Child Care Services Program Office, is statutorily responsible for the administration of child care licensing and training throughout Florida. The purpose of this program is to ensure that children are well cared for in a safe, healthy, positive and educational environment by trained, qualified child care staff.

The Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County is a not for profit planning and funding agency focused on early care and education. The goal of the Early Learning Coalition is to prepare all children to enter kindergarten ready to succeed. Additionally, the Coalition supports school age children in continuing academic achievement.
The Juvenile Welfare Board supports the healthy development of all children and their families in Pinellas County through advocacy, research, planning, training, communications, coordinating of resources and funding.
Pinellas County License Board monitors children’s centers and family day care homes in Pinellas for compliance with Licensing Regulations. Only routine and renewal inspections are placed on the website for public review. The complete public file can be reviewed in our office by appointment.
National Association for the Education of Young Children exists for the purpose of leading and consolidating the efforts of individuals and groups working to achieve healthy development and constructive education for all young children.
NCCIC
National Child Care Information Center - the National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC), a project of the Child Care Bureau, is a national resource that links information and people to complement, enhance, and promote the child care delivery system, working to ensure that all children and families have access to high-quality comprehensive services.
NECTAC

The National Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center supports the implementation of the early childhood provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Their mission is to strengthen service systems to ensure that children with disabilities (birth through five) and their families receive and benefit from high quality, culturally appropriate, and family-centered supports and services.

NAFCC
The focus of NAFCC is to provide technical assistance to family child care associations. This assistance is provided through developing leadership and professionalism, addressing issues of diversity, and by promoting quality and professionalism through NAFCC's Family Child Care Accreditation.
NICHCY
The National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities - provides information for families, educators and other professionals.
NIECDE
National Institute on Early Childhood Development and Education part of the U.S. Department of Education, was created to carry out a comprehensive program of research, development, and dissemination to improve early childhood development and learning.
