The Health Information Management program encompasses Medical Records, Admitting, Switchboard and Cashier staffs. The HIM program:

  • Assists all divisions with record management, privacy and security information.
  • Medical records are created and processed based on best practices to preserve confidentiality and maintain security. HIPAA training requirements are coordinated and maintained for all staff in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Processes client information for health care visits, sets appointments and processes fee for service at cashiering offices.
  • Determines financial eligibility, including presumptive eligibility for pregnant women for temporary Medicaid coverage.
  • Facilitates communication of services and provides information via switchboard.
  • Oversees off-site storage and destruction of various data generated following state retention schedules.
  • Trains staff countywide on record documentation and release of information.
  • Create and revise local county medical record forms.
  • Places St. Petersburg College students at centers as part of clinical practices.
  • Coordinates AARP enrollees in positions to prepare them for re-entry into the workforce.

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays.

Record copy fees as set by the Pinellas County Board of Commissioners.

Based on client income for sliding scale services. Some services are a fixed fee.
